On Monday in New York City, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry attended the 2026 Met Gala with his wife, Ayesha Curry.

The Currys are back at the Met Gala for the second time, making their return after five years. They joined multiple celebrities and athletes at the fashion event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan.

Other basketball stars at the Met Gala this year include Jimmy Butler, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese.

Speaking to E! News’ Zuri Hall during the red carpet entrance, Steph Curry commented on their participation in this year’s 2026 Met Gala.

Steph joked that his attendance meant that he’s not playing in the NBA postseason. He did clarify that he likes fashion and treats it as competition as well.

“On one hand, I love it,” Steph said. “On the other hand, that means I’m not playing basketball right now. … It’s fun to have a different crew and crowd of guys that I compete against showing themselves in the fashion world. It’s amazing.”

The Warriors failed to make the playoffs after losing to the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Play-In Tournament. They fell short after an injury-filled regular season, with Steph missing 39 games, mainly due to a runner’s knee.

It’s going to be an interesting summer for the Warriors. Coach Steve Kerr is rumored to be leaving the franchise, though a final decision hasn’t been reached yet.

The Warriors will be dealing with a couple of long-term injuries to Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody. They could also see Draymond Green and Al Horford become free agents if they opt out of their current contracts.

Golden State has been linked to several top NBA stars since their failure to make the playoffs, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James.

However, the most intriguing part of the offseason is the possible extension for Steph Curry. The four-time NBA champion is entering the final year of his current deal and is eligible to sign a new contract.

At the age of 38, Steph could be entering the final stages of his legendary career. But how many years does he have left?

Speaking to reporters during the team’s exit interview last month, Steph revealed that he still intends to play multiple years.

“Multiple, for sure,” Steph said. “That’s more than one? Yes, that’s perfect, perfect.”

The two-time MVP is also open to signing a new deal, but he shared that there have been no negotiations yet. He even alluded to the franchise being busy this summer after a disappointing campaign, finishing at 37-45.
