The Houston Rockets are heading into a pivotal Game 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight while facing major injury concerns which could ultimately define the outcome of their current playoff run. Houston Rockets Give Injury Status Update On Kevin Durant

The most significant injury blow for the Houston Rockets remains the absence of their superstar forward Kevin Durant, who has officially been ruled out again because o fhis lingering ankle injury and bone bruise. Durant initially suffered a knee contusion before aggravating his ankle during Game 2 of the series against the Los Angeles Lakers. The injury has now forced him to miss three of the five potential games in the matchup.

Durant’s absence is devastating for a Rockets team that brought him in specifically for moments like this. The veteran averaged more than 20 points per game this season and was expected to provide postseason leadership for one of the NBA’s youngest playoff rosters.
