
On Sunday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks (in Texas) by a score of 100-87.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 30 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals while shooting 12/20 from the field and 1/5 from three-point range in 33 minutes of playing time.

After the game (on Monday) the Thunder made a roster move by signing a new player.
ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote: “The Oklahoma City Thunder are signing Payton Sandfort to a two-way NBA contract out of their OKC Blue G League affiliate, Ross Aroyo and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Sandfort joined the OKC program after being undrafted from Iowa last June.”
Sandfort played all four seasons of college basketball at Iowa.
During his senior season, he had averages of 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest while shooting 40.7% from the field and 34.0% from three-point range in 33 games.

Oklahoma City Thunder This Season

Sandfort is joining an organization that knows how to develop talent.
After winning the 2025 NBA Championship, the Thunder are currently the first seed in the Western Conference with a 47-15 record in 62 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and have won seven out of ten).
Following the Mavs, the Thunder will play their next game on Tuesday night when they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.
SleeperThunder added: “The Thunder are signing guard Payton Sandfort to a two-way contract, per @ShamsCharania . Sandfort is averaging 11.4 points on 37.5% shooting, along with 5.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game this season for the Oklahoma City Blue.”

As for the Bulls, they come into the showdown as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 36-46 record.
They have gone just 1-9 over their last ten games (and are 16-17 in 33 at home).
Following the Thunder, the Bulls will play their next game on Thursday night when they visit the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
