Following a Sunday, March 1 loss against the Atlanta Hawks, the Portland Trail Blazers are making a roster move.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Blazers are signing Chris Youngblood to a contract. The developmental prospects gets out of a G League deal to land on an NBA roster.

Prior to the signing, the Blazers struggled against the Hawks on Sunday night. They suffered a 135-101 loss to drop to 29-33 on the year.
Still, the Blazers remain in the NBA Play-In picture, which is a great sign, considering they were viewed as a possible rebuilding candidate leading up to the 2025-2026 NBA season.
The Blazers Add Chris Youngblood To The Team
The Portland Trail Blazers have made a roster move following their loss against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night. The team will add a new two-way player into the mix as they close out the season.
Youngblood has been a G League standout this season, coming from the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Alabama-born shooting guard has traveled around for hoops before landing in the NBA. He attended high school in Georgia, before heading to Kennesaw State for three seasons of NCAA hoops.
After his third season, Youngblood made his way to South Florida for a season. Following his 33-game run at South Florida, Youngblood went home to Alabama to play for the Crimson Tide.
During his final NCAA season, Youngblood appeared in 28 games, picking up 18 starts, He averaged 10.3 points and 2.8 rebounds. The standout shot 44% from the field and knocked down 38% from three.
While Youngblood had a stellar season at ‘Bama, he ended up going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Oklahoma City Thunder added him to the Summer League roster in July.
Following an impressive preseason with the Thunder, Youngblood landed a two-way contract with the champs. He appeared in 32 games for the Thunder this season.
This year, the Thunder rolled out Youngblood for 32 games. He saw the court for just 5.4 minutes per game, averaging 2.0 points, while shooting 33%.
After the NBA’s February 6 deadline, Youngblood was cut by the Thunder. He remained with the organization by sticking with the OKC Blue in the G League.

This season, Youngblood appeared in seven games for the Blue’s Tip-Off run. He averaged 15.9 points and 2.7 assists.
Since the G League regular season fired up, Youngblood appeared in 10 games, seeing the court for over 30 minutes per game. He shot 46% from the field and knocked down 32% of his threes, taking 9.8 attempts per game.
Youngblood has posted averages of 23.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game with the OKC Blue. Now, he joins the Blazers, where he could play on the main roster, while splitting time with the Rip City Remix.
