Toronto Raptors Star Brandon Ingram Made History Against Heat

On Thursday night, the Toronto Raptors played the Miami Heat (at home) in Canada.

The Raptors won by a score of 128-114.

Brandon Ingram finished with 38 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal while shooting 13/23 from the field and 2/3 from three-point range in 37 minutes of playing time.

In addition to his huge night, Ingram also made team history.

Ingram is averaging 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range in 75 games.

He was traded to the Raptors (via the New Orleans Pelicans) last season.

Ingram’s NBA Career

Ingram was picked second in the 2016 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball at Duke.

He played the first three years of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

After a trade in the summer of 2019, Ingram then spent part of five years with the Pelicans.

The two-time NBA All-Star has career averages of 19.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 36.6% from three-point range in 569 games.

Raptors Right Now

With their win over the Heat, the Raptors improved to 45-35 in 80 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and have won six out of ten).

Following the Heat, the Raptors will play their final two games of the 2026 regular season against the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.

The Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championship over the Golden State Warriors.

They last made the playoffs in 2022.

This year, they will have a real chance to make a run to the Eastern Conference finals.
