The Baltimore Ravens have been enjoying having Derrick Henry in the backfield for the last two years.
They hope that trend continues after the stellar performances Henry has put together with the team. He has rushed for a combined 3,516 yards and 32 touchdowns in 34 games with Baltimore.
Henry is entering the 2026 season at age 32, with the conversation this offseason starting to pivot towards retirement. The 5-time Pro Bowler is making it clear that he is nowhere close to getting to that point quite yet.

In a recent interview with Kay Adams on the “Up & Adams Show,” they discussed Henry’s desire to end his career with the Ravens. The “Up & Adams” X account posted a caption with the video of Henry’s interview.
“The best thing any Ravens fan could hear today… RB Derrick Henry wants to retire as a Raven 🐦⬛”
That prompted Henry himself to respond to the post. He made it clear that there are no retirement thoughts or talk coming from him.
“I would like to finish my playing career with Ravens. I never said anything about retiring lol, I’m enjoying being a Raven. I’ll worry about that retirement [expletive] later.”
It’s clear to see how Henry might feel like he is playing at the top of his game right now. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in seven of his 10 NFL seasons. Henry has over 13,000 yards and 122 touchdowns, both leading the NFL among active running backs.

Baltimore’s situation is so good for Henry that why would he even consider retiring? He gets to be the focal point in the offense and is playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL: Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens have a legit shot at winning the AFC North and getting back into the playoffs. Their offense is strong enough, and new head coach Jesse Minter is a defensive genius.
There have been zero signs over the last two years that Henry is even close to slowing down. In fact, he might be playing the best football of his career.
Even with him getting up there in age, he is literally defying science at the running back position. He should be enjoying retirement and being a lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Instead, he remains one of the top five best running backs in the NFL.
All the cards are stacked in favor of a successful season for the Ravens with the talent they have. As long as Henry continues to play the way he has, no one is slowing down Baltimore.
