Patrick Mahomes’ recovery from his season-ending injury received a new visual update thanks to his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Brittany shared a carousel of photos on Instagram from a recent offseason vacation with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and their family. The images offered fans a rare look at Patrick’s leg as he continues rehabilitation following the torn ACL that ended his 2025 NFL season.
The social media post showed the Mahomes family enjoying time together in a warm destination. The trip included Patrick, Brittany, and their three children — daughter Sterling, son Bronze, and their youngest daughter Golden Raye.
While the photos focused largely on family moments from the vacation, they also provided the clearest look yet at Patrick’s recovery since undergoing surgery in December.

Brittany posted a collection of photos on Wednesday showing the family enjoying downtime during the NFL offseason.
The pictures showed Patrick relaxing at the beach and spending time with the couple’s three children. The group appeared to be traveling with friends as well, including Brittany’s longtime friend Miranda Hogue.
Although Brittany did not reveal the exact location of the trip, the photos showed the group enjoying warm weather and beach scenery.
Several of the images showed Patrick wearing a full-leg brace while walking or relaxing with his family.
Other photos gave fans their first unobstructed look at Patrick’s leg since he underwent surgery after the ACL injury.
The images showed the leg appearing stable without visible swelling. Only the back of the leg was shown in the photos.
The family vacation also came shortly after Patrick and Brittany celebrated another wedding anniversary.
Brittany reflected on their relationship in a message shared on social media.
“Growing with you, learning with you, making babies with you. All of it has been the best years of my life!” Brittany wrote.
“I love you @patrickmahomes forever & ever. Here’s to many more years and memories.”
Mahomes Continues Rehab From Torn ACL Injury

GettyChiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury in Week 15.
Patrick suffered a torn ACL during Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season.
The injury required surgery on December 15 and initially carried a recovery timeline of nine to 12 months.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided an update on Patrick’s progress during a media session on February 20.
“He’s around here all the time,” Reid said, via ESPN. “He spends a ton of time here, seven hours a day. He’s in there cranking away and making progress every day.”
Reid emphasized that Patrick’s work ethic has played a major role in the rehabilitation process.
“It’s not going to be a pleasant thing. Every day, you’ve got to fight through it and you’ve got to attack the challenge of the workout and rehab,” Reid said. “He’s doing a great job with that.”
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt echoed those comments when discussing Patrick’s recovery during an appearance on “Good Morning Football” on January 27.
“I was with Patrick a couple days ago in our training room, watching him go through the work that he’s doing to get back on the field with the rehab,” Hunt said.
“And nobody works harder than Patrick.”
Hunt added that Patrick has a goal of returning in time for the start of the 2026 season.
“He certainly has a goal to be back for the beginning of the season,” Hunt said. “I wouldn’t put it past him.”
NFL Insider Shares Encouraging Update on Patrick Mahomes’ Injury
NFL insider Jay Glazer also offered an optimistic update about Patrick’s recovery timeline.
During an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” on March 5, Glazer suggested the three-time Super Bowl MVP could return sooner than originally expected.
“His pain threshold is different, his work ethic is different,” Glazer said.
“So at first they were like, ‘Oh, you know, start of the season.’ I would probably hedge on him being back sooner than that.”
Glazer also explained that Patrick was able to undergo surgery quickly after the injury occurred, which may have accelerated the rehabilitation process.
“He got the surgery before it swelled up,” Glazer said. “I believe it was either Thursday or Friday that week he was already in the Chiefs’ training room doing rehab.”
Glazer added that Patrick quickly regained mobility in his knee.
“He had already got his knee bending at 90 degrees at that point,” Glazer said. “He’s just different. He heals differently.”
