Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are nearing their wedding, which is slated to take place before the Chiefs kick off their 2026-27 camp, but now, Swift has another reason to smile. Between all the wedding planning, Swift, of course, is still working her 12th studio release, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Swift is already on her third single off the album, which dropped in October of 2025, and that single is called “Elizabeth Taylor.” In a feature about the song in Time magazine, Olivia B. Waxman notes, “Swift invokes Taylor again in ‘Elizabeth Taylor,’ which appears to be dedicated to her fiancé Travis Kelce, as she sings, ‘Do you think it’s forever?'”
Well, the answer is, “Yes.” It is forever, and Swift and Kelce are getting ready to say “I do.” Now, Swift is celebrating an early milestone for “Elizabeth Taylor,” and this one puts her in the company of another billionaire.
Taylor Swift Notches a Victory With Latest Career News
Swift officially released “Elizabeth Taylor” as the third single off her album in early March, and it’s already topping the charts. Even though the song arrived on “The Life of a Showgirl” back in October of 2025, it wasn’t released to radio until March.
In a Sunday, March 22 feature for Forbes, Hugh McIntyre shares the good news that Swift just joined fellow billionaire Rihanna in a feat that’s historic with the song.
“Elizabeth Taylor” has now debuted on the Pop Airplay chart, one of three radio rankings published from Billboard that focuses just on pop music. Swift’s new single debuted at No. 30 on the chart, which has 40 slots.
While No. 30 may not sound impressive, remember that it takes time for a single to build, even if you’re Swift. Even making it on the chart at all has put in her company with Rihanna.
“As ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ debuts, Swift earns her milestone fiftieth win on the Pop Airplay chart,” McIntyre stated in the piece. “As she makes it to that landmark figure, Swift joins Rihanna as the only artist to score 50 placements between Nos. 1 and 40. Rihanna continues to lead all acts with 52 successes. It wasn’t long ago that Swift passed Nicki Minaj, who claims 47 appearances.”
15 Songs From Taylor Swift Have Hit No. 1 on the Pop Airplay Chart
According to research from Billboard and Forbes, McIntyre notes that “15 songs by Swift have spent time at No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart.”
“For some time now, the Grammy champion has claimed the largest number of winners, and she added to it recently with both ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ and ‘Opalite,’ the first two singles taken from The Life of a Showgirl before ‘Elizabeth Taylor.'” It’s also worth noting that Swift has beaten out the runner-up Bruno Mars, who has a dozen No. 1s in his career.
So, it’s a happy day for Swift, and her single is off to a good start. The song already has more than 300 million Spotify streams and is on thousands of playlists. Even if it takes time for “Elizabeth Taylor” to get higher on the charts, it’s starting strong, and that’s a good sign that the single is moving in the right direction to build momentum.
