Taylor Swift and her future husband Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs were not at the 2026 Grammys, and Swift wasn’t up for any awards at this year’s event.
But, the lack of Swift wasn’t because her album wasn’t good enough to be nominated. Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” was released on Oct. 3, 2025, and that missed the deadline to be included in the nominations for this year’s roster of honors.
So, Swift will likely be up for Grammy Awards at next year’s event for “The Life of a Showgirl.” Throughout her career, Swift has won 14 Grammy Awards and has been nominated 58 times, according to Grammy research, so she already has a slew of Grammy honors.
Even though Swift wasn’t nominated for awards at this year’s event, fans were hoping she would attend and either perform or present. But, she didn’t, and that leaves some fans disappointed and even concerned about the pop musician.
Fans React to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Missing Grammys
So, Swift was missing from the Grammy festivities, and Swifties weren’t happy about it. Some even wondered why she would miss such a big event.
“The Grammys are better when Taylor is there dancing her … off, and having the time of her life,” one said. “Last year I only watched the Grammys because of Taylor Swift, now I have no reason to watch but I hope Justin wins in some category,” another person on X stated.
Someone else said, “Without Taylor Swift being nominated, I didn’t even know the Grammys were today.” Another stated, “Oh, Taylor swift the Grammys will miss you.”
What would have made a Swift appearance even more exciting would have been if she had brought Kelce with her. So far, Swift and Kelce haven’t done a red carpet event together. Perhaps the 2027 Grammys will be their big moment.
Taylor Swift’s Grammy Legacy
Swift attended the Grammy Awards was in 2025, and at the time, she presented Beyoncé with the award for Best Country Album. At this point, it’s almost easy to forget that Swift started out her career in the country music world.
“I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album,” Beyonce said after accepting the award from Swift. “We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just wanna encourage people to do what they’re passionate about and to stay persistent.”
Upon releasing “The Life of a Showgirl” in October, the album became the fastest-selling album of all time in the U.S. and spent 12 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 chart.
“I’ll never forget how excited I was in 2006 when my first album sold 40,000 copies in its first week,” Swift wrote on social media after it dropped. “Here we are all these years later and a hundred times that many people showed up for me this week.”
She added, “Thank you for going out to celebrate this project in the movie theaters, investing in vinyl, streaming, watching the video, buying CDs, reading the poems I wrote inside the packaging, and immersing yourselves in ‘The Life of a Showgirl.'”
