The Kansas City Chiefs got on the team plane and headed to Brazil for their 2025 season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5.
Before making the journey to São Paulo on Wednesday, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, dropped a new episode of their podcast, “New Heights.
During the show, Travis spoke publicly about his engagement to Taylor Swift for the first time. The 10-time Pro Bowler smiled from ear to ear while talking about how “giddy” he is to call Swift his fiancée.
“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” Travis said. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”

Fans will keep an eye out for Swift when the Chiefs take on the Chargers. According to a recent report, his future bride is planning to be in Brazil for the Week 1 showdown.
Jason gushed, “I cannot wait to hear more of the planning and everything that will take place. Travis, you’re about to embark on the wedding planning phase of a relationship.”
“Oh, it’s gonna go crazy,” Travis said. “That is the next step, yeah, I’ve heard about that.”
While it’s impossible to top an engagement announcement, the Kelce brothers shared exciting news with fans after Wednesday’s episode aired.
Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce Are Hosting a Pregame Tailgate Before The Chiefs-Eagles Game
Ahead of the Chiefs home opener in Week 2, during which Kansas City hosts Jason’s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kelce brothers are hosting a pregame tailgate.
The “New Heights” tailgate is set to take place on September 14 at 11 a.m. ET in front of KC Live! Jason promised “the ultimate fan experience with food — of course, barbecue, tons of contests, ‘New Heights’ merch and giveaways, a photo booth to take game day photos, a DJ, corn hole,” and more.
Best of all, it’s free. Why? “Because we appreciate you so much,” Jason gushed of the 92%ers. “And we want you to have a kick ass time.” Admittance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“Make sure you show up and show out,” Travis added.
The only complaint fans had was that the event wasn’t happening in their city, too. One person commented on Instagram, “You don’t think this is weird to only to this in KC?” to which the podcast replied, “who said this is the only one we’re doing 👀🤫.”
Travis Kelce Said He Put The Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIX Loss ‘In The Trash’

The Chiefs whiffed on winning a historic Super Bowl three-peat following their blowout loss to the Eagles in February. Ahead of what could be his 13th and final season in the NFL, Travis made it clear he’s no longer thinking about that 40-22 defeat.
“I’ve thrown that thing in the trash,” he told ESPN last month. “I’ve moved on. It happened sooner than you can imagine. I was pretty focused on this year in the offseason.”
“You’ve got to go through the dog days and enjoy it for what it is, man,” Kelce said. “We’re rocking and rolling, man. It’s training camp, so you’re going to feel the soreness and the heavy workload you’re getting every day. You’ve got to enjoy it for what it is and fight through that.”
Now, the 35-year-old is looking forward to a historic fourth consecutive Super Bowl appearance. “Football has always been the biggest driving force I’ve ever had. I love coming out here and focusing on this and getting better for another run at hopefully a Super Bowl,” he said.
