Taylor Swift remains the Kansas City Chiefs' most famous fan.

The Kansas City Chiefs made the incredibly difficult decision to trade superstar cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams.

In the exchange, the Chiefs receive four draft picks: the 29th overall pick in 2026, along with fifth and sixth-round picks, and a 2027 third-rounder. McDuffie played a crucial role in the Chiefs’ winning three straight AFC titles between 2022 and 2024, earning All-Pro honors in 2022 and 2023.

McDuffie is now the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL after signing a four-year, $124 million deal with the Rams. The 25-year-old sent a heartfelt message to Kansas City following his departure.

He wrote in part on Instagram, “This one is definitely hard to put into words. I wasn’t quite ready for a goodbye. I want to thank God for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime. When I first put on a Chiefs helmet I knew something powerful was in the making.”

After thanking his coaches, teammates, and entire Chiefs staff, he sent a special message to Chiefs Kingdom. “You welcomed me in with open arms. The last 4 years I learned what giving to a community truly means… And I’m thankful to have brought the Lombardi to the city, back to back.”

After landing in Los Angeles, McDuffie spoke for the first time about the Chiefs’ most famous fan, Taylor Swift.

During an appearance on ESPN Los Angeles, McDuffie was asked if he had ever met Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s fiancée and what she’s like in real life.

“I have,” McDuffie answered. “She is a very special woman. Down to earth, genuine. I remember when I first met her, it was a little bit of nerves but she gave me a big hug. She knew my name, knew my position, knew football. And I was like, ‘Wow this is surreal. This is a moment I’ll remember forever.

“Just being able to have a normal conversation with her, it was really cool. A lot of respect for Taylor Swift and shoutout to Travis, too.”

Fans absolutely loved the story. A Swiftie posted, “pls take good care of him rams 😔.” Another fan gushed, “We will miss you, king.” One woman reiterated, “She’s a fan of football. I just wish the Brad‘s Dad’s and Chad‘s would figure that out and get it through their thick skulls.”

Trent McDuffie Plans to Use What He Learned From Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid in Los Angeles

During McDuffie’s introductory press conference with the Rams, the 2022 first-round pick didn’t shy away from praising head coach Andy Reid.

“I feel like I’ve genuinely understood what it takes to be an NFL football player, in the journey and how much it takes to build a Super Bowl team,” McDuffie said. “And a big thing for me was Andy Reid’s philosophy on just, ‘let your personality show.’

“Like that thing always rings in my head, because obviously, as a team, it’s a lot of different players, a lot of different guys who are from different areas of the country. And you all got to come in here and believe in the same thing, believe in the same goal, fight for the same thing.

“And if you’re not a good human being, if you’re not somebody that can listen and understand when guys are having a bad day, and pick ’em up, (when) guys are having great days and keep lifting them up, I feel like it can be hard to get guys motivated, because it’s a long season, and playoffs are long, and you get to the Super Bowl and that’s a long week. So I feel like more of those kinds of things, and those nuggets, are what I feel like I can bring to this team
