After getting off to a quick start with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 against the New York Jets, with their new leader under center, throwing for four touchdowns, the Pittsburgh Steelers were rumored to be interested in trading for wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.

With a future Hall of Famer under center, the Steelers appeared to be intrigued by surrounding him with more talent in the passing game. Pittsburgh had already acquired D.K. Metcalf during the offseason, and adding Hill into the mix would definitely make the team more dynamic offensively.

Steelers Might be Out on the Tyreek Hill Sweepstakes

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Steelers may no longer be interested in trading for Hill due to his off-the-field issues at the moment, which is obviously a concern for the Dolphins and any team that does trade for the one-time Super Bowl champion.

As one source recently explained it, the Steelers are concerned that the new Personal Conduct Policy investigation, sparked by eight allegations of domestic violence in court filings made by his estranged wife, could result in a suspension. Regardless of whether Keeta Vaccaro does or doesn’t cooperate with the league’s review of the situation, the sudden emergence of an incriminating photo or video would potentially result in a quick exit for Hill.

With Hill’s off-field troubles shedding doubt on his future, it comes as no surprise that Pittsburgh would pump the brakes on taking the risk of trading for him. Plus, the nature of the off-field issue doesn’t look good in terms of the superstar wideout’s character, which likely doesn’t sit well with Steelers longtime head coach Mike Tomlin, who doesn’t mess around and probably doesn’t want another situation like he had with Antonio Brown, which became quite toxic.

Chiefs Might be Only Trade Destination for Tyreek Hill

If the Steelers are genuinely not interested in bringing in Hill via trade, there may be only one possible destination for the troubled wide receiver, which is where his NFL playing career began.

After yet another trip to the Super Bowl in February, the Kansas City Chiefs had gotten off to a rough start to the 2025 campaign. Patrick Mahomes and company are sporting a 0-2 record coming into Week 3, which is obviously not ideal for the storied franchise.

With the receiving corps in Kansas City being an issue for quite some time, and Xavier Worthy recently going down with a shoulder injury, the Chiefs might be motivated for a reunion with Hill, even if it comes with some risk.

Hill became a household name with the Chiefs, as he and Mahomes had instant chemistry, resulting in some spectacular plays, which drove opposing defenses crazy on a weekly basis.

If the Chiefs continue to struggle, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that they get the Dolphins on the phone and try to get a deal done to salvage the season and get back on track offensively.
