When the Philadelphia Eagles’ offseason began, many wondered if star offensive lineman Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson would be part of the team next season.
There was speculation one or both could retire after the team lost heralded offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, who reportedly had several clashes with head coach Nick Sirianni that prompted his exit from the team.
However, both players announced they planned to return in 2026, and it appears that Johnson is trying to convince one of the league’s top pass-rushers to join them.

Around the time the Chicago Bears traded wide receiver DJ Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2026 second-round pick, many were speculating that move was a precursor for an even bigger deal for Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby.
The Bears had been linked to Crosby for some time, but so to have the Eagles. So when Johnson sent a message to Crosby via social media on Thursday, it had everyone talking.
“👀 @CrosbyMaxx,” Johnson tweeted.
Johnson’s tweet had Eagles fans scrambling, wondering if the 35-year-old lineman was tipping them off to a potentially big trade that was about to go down.
“Lane what do you know…,” one fan asked.
“Lane please don’t be playin with us rn 😭,” another fan replied.
“He’s recruiting – that’s our goat Lane (play 2 more btw) – Crosby you’ll never love a city more,” a third fan remarked.
“Lane Johnson tweeting just 👀 at @CrosbyMaxx feels like the NFL version of ‘I know something the group chat doesn’t.’ Either this is elite trolling… or somebody in the league just felt their phone vibrate. 👀,” one user wrote.
“Lane don’t do this to me man. I need this to happen😂,” another user said.
“Maxx on the Eagles defense that would be a problem 💯💪🏾💪🏾,” exclaimed another fan.
Latest Maxx Crosby Trade Update
Crosby is arguably the hottest name on the trade market right now.
The Raiders were initially bullish on him not being available, but their stance has seemingly changed in the last week.
“Sources: Teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the #Raiders are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby, and it’s a situation that is only going to intensify,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Thursdsay.
While Crosby has been linked to the Bears, Eagles, 49ers, and a handful of other teams, the one that seems to be getting the most attention is the Dallas Cowboys. However, ESPN’s Jane Slater doesn’t believe the team will meet Vegas’ astronomically high asking price.
“On Maxx Crosby and the Cowboys being at play here….here is what I’m being told from a team source,” Slater wrote. “‘Raiders are talking to a lot of people. But we would not give up two first rounders.’ That’s the situation now. Will that change? I don’t know but I checked for those of you interested.
“I also believe that while Cowboys would and have parted with a 1st rounder. 2? Last time they did that was for Joey Galloway, I believe? That didn’t go so well. No water gif bc things can always change esp when they seem very motivated this year but 2 1st rounders after restructuring deals and two guys looking to get paid not to mention a lot of holes on defense? Feels a little risky. Just my sense/cents.”
