The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts have had a lot of success together. They have made two runs to the Super Bowl and won one of them.

Despite the winning ways the Eagles have enjoyed with Hurts as their quarterback, the rumors simply haven’t quieted down about the future. There has been a lot of speculation about the two parties and their long-term future together.

Some reports and rumblings have suggested that Philadelphia could be open to the idea of parting ways with Hurts. Those rumors have gone as far as to bring up trade destination suggestions.

While the rumors have grown louder over the last couple of years, Hurts still remains the starting quarterback of the Eagles. The team has yet to show signs of being ready to move on from him.

Keeping that in mind, a new update has been shared on the situation.

NFL Scout Weighs in on the Eagles, Jalen Hurts Rumors

One NFL scout, who currently works for an NFC franchise, spoke out to Heavy about the rumors. He doesn’t buy them too seriously.

“Look, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that the two sides part ways down the road,” the scout said. “But the idea that the Eagles are actively wanting to move on is downright laughable. They’re comfortable, Jalen (Hurts) is comfortable, and I don’t see that marriage ending soon.”

He also spoke out about his expectations for Philadelphia in 2026.

“They still need to figure out the A.J. Brown situation. I do think he gets moved before the season, which will change some things offensively. However, I think they should be a legit Super Bowl contender again.”

Needless to say, there are many Eagles fans who will be excited to hear those words. Some are ready to move on from Hurts, but the success the franchise has had with him leading the way cannot be counted out.

What Kind of Season Is Jalen Hurts Expected to Have?

ESPN’s Mike Clay has revealed his expectations for Hurts in 2026.

He is expecting the Philadelphia quarterback to complete 320 of his 482 passing attempts for 3,639 yards, 24 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. In addition, he has Hurts running for 448 yards and nine more touchdowns.

Those numbers would quality for yet another successful season. Hurts may not be on the same level as Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, but he’s still a very good dual-threat quarterback.

Only time will tell and the rumors will likely continue, but the idea of the Eagles wanting to get rid of Hurts just doesn’t make sense. Should the team falter over the next couple of years, that notion could gain more traction.
