The Super Bowl is not this Sunday as the Seahawks take on the Patriots on February 8.

No, Super Bowl 2026 is not on TV today, Sunday, February 1, despite plenty of confused football fans. The NFL annually puts two weeks between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl, unlike any other stretch of the playoff schedule.

In one more week, football fans will be tuning in to Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC. The Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX.

Fans are hoping that part two can be just as thrilling as the original, except potentially Marshawn Lynch.

Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming NFL schedule.

When & Where Is Super Bowl 2026? The Seahawks Battle the Patriots on Sunday, February 8, in San Francisco

There is no football on TV today, but the Pro Bowl takes place on Tuesday, February 3, at 8 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. As a reminder, the traditional Pro Bowl game has shifted to a flag football event.

If you want to see tackling, the Super Bowl remains the only game on the NFL schedule before a long offseason. This means that the Super Bowl on February 8, will mark the last football matchup until the preseason begins in August, marking nearly a seventh-month long layoff between games.

Super Bowl Odds 2026: The Patriots Are a 4.5-Point Underdog Against the Seahawks

Seattle will continue their trend of being favorites in all of their NFL playoff games this postseason. The Seahawks are a 4.5-point favorite against the Patriots, per FanDuel. The over-under is set at 45.5 points.

At least publicly, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is not leaning into the disrespect card to motivate his team.

“It doesn’t matter,” Vrabel told WEEI during a January 27, interview, per Pro Football Talk. “We’re in the Super Bowl. Like, we can pump this thing up for 10 days.

“I mean, we’re all compensated very well for what we do, so I don’t think there’s any disrespect from this building, or my appreciation for our football team. It doesn’t bother me.”

When Does the NFL Schedule Start for Next Season?

The NFL has yet to announce the 2026 schedule. Fans can look back to last season for a blueprint on when the next football year should start.

Last season, the Hall of Fame Game kicked off the preseason on July 31. The Super Bowl champions traditionally open the regular season by hosting a Thursday Night Football matchup to kickoff Week 1.

The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 4, for NFL Week 1 in 2025. Next season will most likely begin in either Seattle or New England, depending on who wins the Super Bowl.

Seahawks QB Sam Darnold Looks to Keep His Hot Streak Alive in the Super Bowl vs. Patriots

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is doing his best to silence the doubters. Darnold threw for 346 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 69.4% of his passes in the team’s win over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.

“You can’t talk about the game without talking about our quarterback,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said of Darnold on January 25, after the team secured a Super Bowl spot, per NFL.com. “I mean he just shut a lot of people up tonight, so I’m really happy for him.”
