Not even cracking the Top 10 rookie ratings in Madden 26, the Tennessee Titans No. 1 overall pick has his work cut out for him. Cam Ward’s rating is historically low, one that hasn’t been seen in the last 24 years.
Knowing the team is moving on from Will Levis, they believe Ward is their quarterback of the future. One’s rating in a video game isn’t going to indicate how they perform on the field, but it gives perspective into what many think of his talent.
RG3 Goes off on Madden’s 71 Rating of Cam Ward
Robert Griffin III is a former Heisman winner, having made quite the name for himself since his days in the NFL. He wasted no time taking to social media to discuss Ward’s rating, one he was left dumbfounded by.
“Cam Ward is the most disrespected QB #1 overall Pick EVER,” RG3 said. “I know it’s just a Madden Ranking , but Cam Ward having a 71 rating and not even being a top 10 rated rookie in the game as the 1st Pick in the NFL draft and the lack of national media coverage of him solidifies it.”
Travis Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick, topped the list of rookie ratings with an 84 overall. Knowing he’ll be a two-way player, it makes sense to have him above Ward, but by 13 overall points seems to be a stretch.
RG3 has long been high on Ward. Back on July 22 he asked, “Why is no one talking about Cam Ward and the Titans?”
“Cam Ward could do for Tennessee what CJ Stroud did for the Texans. Titans should go from #26 to a top 15 offense in the NFL. Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, Okonkwo, Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears give him experienced playmakers,” he added.
Others Sound Off on Ward’s 71 Rating
The Titans of the South author confirmed Ward’s rating was the lowest for a No. 1 pick in the last 24 years. One fan responded, “Cam haters everywhere” which received most of the likes behind this fans response, “I’d do anything to see him win Rookie of the year. The disrespect towards him is insane.”

Most fans were left speechless as the New York Giants 4th round pick, Cam Skattebo, received a higher rating than Ward. Skattebo’s 73 rating was met with tons of backlash as many were quick to defend Ward.
At the end of the day, these are simply video game ratings. They don’t mean anything in terms of the rookie’s performance on the field, as they’ve yet to be seen in live action. With the Hall of Fame game tonight (July 31) and preseason looming, these athletes have a chance to prove themselves.
Ward was part of six names dropped ahead of the full list. His 71 rating was immediately pointed out as other top names such as Ashton Jeanty received an 81 and Tetairoa McMillan got a 77.
Shockingly, Ward wasn’t even the highest rated Titans rookie. Offensive lineman, Jackson Slater, topped him with a 75 overall. If anything, that’s great news for the team as it gives him some much needed protection that many are high on.
