After months of rumors, the United States officially unveiled two new jerseys ahead of the 2026 World Cup. There is a lot of pressure on Nike to get the look right with the United States hosting the World Cup.
It looks like the leaked jerseys were very similar to the kits that Team USA unveiled. The United States will rock jerseys with a flag motif as the kits are clearly a nod to the old “Waldo” jerseys that fans love.
Additionally, the USMNT unveiled a new away kit that is navy blue with a slight stars pattern throughout the jersey. The United States announced the news by dropping a new video featuring players from both the men’s and women’s teams.
“These are our Stars & Stripes. 🇺🇸,” the USMNT detailed in a March 16, 2026, post on X. “Kits for the believers who dare to want more. It appears that fans are mostly in favorite of the new look.”

Fans Are Loving the New United States Jerseys for the World Cup
Overall, fans seem to approve of the new look for the United States. The flag jerseys are quickly becoming a fan favorite with the World Cup less than 100 days from kicking off.

The USMNT Could Debut the New Jerseys in Upcoming March Friendlies vs. Belgium, Portugal
Fans could see these kits on the pitch as soon as March. Nike has already released the jerseys for purchase.
The USMNT has upcoming friendlies against Belgium (March 28) and Portugal (March 31) in Atlanta. Team USA opens up the World Cup against Paraguay in Los Angeles on June 12.
United States Manager Mauricio Pochettino on World Cup: ‘Why Not Win It’
The United States are sizable underdogs heading into the World Cup. Spain is the favorite to win at +450, per FanDuel. Team USA is well down the list in the World Cup odds at +4000.
“It’s complicated for every team to win the World Cup, it won’t be easy,” USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino noted in February, per Sports Illustrated. “It’s also a different experience with different circumstances, we’ll see, surprises can always happen.
“It’s true that nobody in the world puts the USMNT among the favorites to win the World Cup, I’m conscious of that. But internally, when we took on the challenge of going to the World Cup, we considered: ‘Why not? Why not win it? Why not make it to the final stages of the World Cup?’”
It remains to be seen how the Untied States will perform in the World Cup. The stars and stripes will at least look the part this summer thanks to the new Nike jerseys.
