Tennis superstar Jannik Sinner defeated Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4, in the 2026 Madrid Open semifinal. Not only did he mark his 350th ATP career victory, but Sinner also became the youngest player ever to reach all nine Masters 1000 events.
Next up, he takes on Alexander Zverev in the final on May 3. Should Sinner defeat the German tennis star he’ll become the first player to win five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 championships in series history.
The 23-year-old, who is in the midst of a 22-match win streak, appears to be unbeatable right now. “I like to play with the gut feeling,” Sinner told reporters. “That’s what I feel at that moment, and I just try to go for it.

“Honestly. There is no real key. I think I would rather go for it and miss a ball than wait for the opponent to miss. I’ve always been like this. Obviously, not every time you can play like this, it’s also depending how you feel. This is just how I see it.”
While fans would love to see Sinner’s girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, cheering him on at Caja Mágica on Sunday, the Danish model will not be in attendance.

While Sinner and Hasanovic keep their romance out of the spotlight and off social media, she proudly supported her boyfriend at the Monte-Carlo Masters last month. The former pageant queen, however, can’t make it to all of Sinner’s matches.
She missed his big win at the Miami Open as she was celebrating the launch of her self-tanner line in Copenhagen. She instead sent a subtle love message from afar.
Ahead of Sinner’s final against Zverev in Spain, Hasanovic teased on Instagram that she’s “somewhere in the middle of nowhere” on her latest shoot.
Hasanovic, however, did tag her location in Sweden, far from where Sinner is playing on Sunday. Fans hope to see Hasanovic when Sinner competes at the 2026 French Open later this month.

While fans were quick to link Sinner to Hasanovic last year after she attended numerous of his matches, the four-time Grand Slam champion initially shut down relationship rumors.
“There’s a lot of attention,” said Sinner during a press conference during the Italian Open in May 2025. “Also, off the court, I was surprised to see some pictures, which, nothing serious. I’m not in a relationship!”
In September, a fan video appeared to show Sinner’s phone, featuring a photo of Hasanovic as his screensaver at the U.S. Open. Ahead of the tournament, he told Corriere della Sera that he was in love, “but we don’t talk about our private life.”
