Buehler (elbow) tossed five innings in a minor-league rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out five batters. Buehler tossed 75 pitches in the outing, 11 fewer than he threw in his previous appearance. However, he completed five frames for the first time since beginning his rehab stint March 31. The right-hander's fastball topped out at 94.6 mph, so he's not quite back to the velocity he displayed prior to his Tommy John surgery in August of 2022. Nonetheless, Tuesday's start -- his sixth in the minors this season -- may have been Buehler's final step before rejoining the big-league rotation, as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts suggested prior to the outing that the hurler could make his next appearance with the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Outman isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks. The lefty-hitting Outman will begin the game on the bench for the second straight day with Arizona starting another southpaw, Jordan Montgomery. Chris Taylor, Andy Pages, and Teoscar Hernandez will round out the Dodgers' outfield Tuesday.
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks. For the first time this season, Lux will begin the game on the bench for a second consecutive game. This is due to Arizona starting a southpaw for two straight games with Jordan Montgomery on the mound Tuesday. Miguel Rojas will start at second base and bat eighth.
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks. Muncy started against southpaw Tommy Henry on Monday, but will take a seat with lefty Jordan Montgomery on the bump for Arizona on Tuesday. Despite the Dodgers scoring eight runs against the Diamondbacks in Monday's win, the third baseman went hitless across five plate appearances. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat sixth Tuesday.
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Monday's 8-4 victory against the Diamondbacks. Smith padded the Dodgers' lead in the sixth inning with a 407-foot solo blast to center field. It was the backstop's second long ball in three games after he went deep just once over his first 23 contests of the campaign. Though he's been pretty quiet in the power department thus far, Smith is having an outstanding start to the season, slashing .363/.404/.539 with 22 RBI and 16 runs through 114 plate appearances.
Paxton (3-0) earned the win over Arizona on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four batters over five innings. Paxton gave up constant traffic on the basepaths and needed 96 pitches to get through just five frames, but a potent Dodgers offense gave him enough support to keep his record spotless at 3-0 for the season. Despite the veteran southpaw's clean record, he's been a volatile rotation option for Los Angeles due largely to his control issues -- Paxton has walked five or more batters on three occasions this season after doing so only five times total across his first 10 big-league campaigns. Though Paxton has thus far done what it takes to pick up wins in spite of the issue with free passes, fantasy managers may be hesitant to deploy him given his ugly 15:22 K:BB and 1.68 WHIP through 25.2 innings on the season.
The Dodgers have received reports that Treinen is faring well on his rehab assignment, and he's expected to make another appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Treinen has given up five runs over 2.1 innings during his first three outings with Triple-A Oklahoma City, but the team is pleased with how he's pitched, per Harris. It remains to be seen whether Wednesday's appearance at Triple-A will be Treinen's last before being activated from the 15-day injured list.
