Eduardo Rodriguez: Breaking News

Rodriguez (4-0) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over 8.1 innings against the Mets. He struck out four. Rodriguez twirled a gem, stifling the Mets' offense while pitching into the ninth inning for the first time in his big-league career. The southpaw's first two starts of May have been stellar, as he has allowed just one run across 15.1 frames. After posting an ERA north of 5.00 in each of his first two seasons with the Diamondbacks, Rodriguez owns a 2.25 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 48 innings in 2026. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Rockies.

Rodriguez (3-0) allowed two hits and three walks while striking out seven over seven shutout innings to earn the win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Rodriguez had faltered a bit with 10 runs allowed over his last 14.2 innings across three starts. He bounced back and put up one of his best outings of the season Tuesday, throwing 65 of 103 pitches for strikes in the dominant victory. He's now at a 2.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 29:19 K:BB through 39.2 innings over seven starts this season. Rodriguez's 6.6 K/9 is the lowest of his career, but he's making it work after struggling in his first two campaigns with Arizona. The southpaw is projected to make his next start at home over the weekend against the Mets.

Rodriguez allowed two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Wednesday. Rodriguez's pitch count got elevated as he matched his season high with four walks. He ended up throwing 48 of 87 pitches for strikes and was pulled after walking Gary Sanchez in the fifth inning. Rodriguez has allowed 10 runs over his last 14.2 innings, and he's at a 3.03 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB across 32.2 innings through six starts this season. He had a career-worst 3.5 BB/9 in 2025, but it's at 4.4 so far in 2026, which will likely limit his effectiveness if he can't reverse course with the free passes. The southpaw is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Pirates.
