Kenneth Kelly: Everything you need to know

Kelly (4-3) allowed three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and no walks to earn the win Wednesday over the Giants. Kelly collected his third straight quality start and victory to help the Diamondbacks complete the series sweep. The right-hander allowed a home run to Casey Schmitt in the first inning and didn't retire the side in order until the sixth, but he was otherwise able to limit San Francisco to single tallies in the second and fourth frames. After a horrid start to the year resulted in a 9.95 ERA through his first four outings, the 37-year-old has allowed just five runs with a 13:3 K:BB in 22 innings over his last three starts. Kelly's next appearance lines up to be a road rematch with the Giants next week.

Kelly (3-3) tossed a complete game in Friday's win over the Rockies, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three. Kelly needed 100 pitches to record the 27 outs Friday, and while he didn't overpower hitters, he looked in control all game long. He had outstanding run support all game long, though, as the Diamondbacks erupted for six runs in the first inning and never looked back. Kelly has won his last two starts, posting a 9:3 K:BB while allowing two runs across 16 innings in that stretch. Kelly will try to extend his decent run of results in his next start, scheduled for next week at home against the Giants.

Kelly (2-3) allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over the Mets on Saturday. Kelly had been knocked around in his last three outings, giving up a total of 19 runs across 13.2 innings. He bounced back in a big way Saturday, delivering his best start of the year in a game where he had little margin for error. Performances like this one haven't been the norm for the veteran right-hander, who is at a 7.62 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and 20:18 K:BB across 26 innings over five starts this season. Kelly's next start is lined up to be a daunting road assignment in Colorado.
