Back with Cleveland

Allard signed a minor-league contract with the Guardians on Saturday, per SI.com. Allard was DFA'd by the Guardians on Monday and elected to explore his options as a free agent Thursday. He ultimately decided to return to Cleveland's organization and has been assigned to Triple-A Columbus. Allard appeared in four major-league games out of the bullpen for the Guardians prior to his initial exit. He was roughed up in his last outing against Atlanta this past Sunday, when he allowed five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out one batter across three innings.

Elects free agency

Allard elected to become a free agent Thursday. Allard was designated for assignment Monday, and he'll now become a free agent instead of reporting to Triple-A Columbus. The southpaw has surrendered 10 runs on 16 hits and three walks while striking out nine batters over 8.2 innings in four appearances with Cleveland this season.

Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Guardians designated Allard for assignment Monday. Allard has been touched up for 10 runs over 8.2 innings in a mop-up role out of the Guardians bullpen. He will have the option to elect free agency if he passes through waivers.
