Wednesday night’s Wild Card game between the Pirates and Giants was scoreless through three innings. Then Brandon Crawford ended the collective drought in emphatic fashion.
Crawford took Edinson Volquez deep to straight-away right field for a grand slam in the top of the fourth that gave San Francisco a 4-0 lead and silenced the raucous crowd at PNC Park.
