Despite being undefeated, Florida State has dropped all the way to fourth in the latest College Football Playoff rankings — a sign of how unimpressed the committee has been with the Seminoles’ play against a relatively weak ACC schedule.

Yet if the defending champions beat Georgia Tech Saturday night in the ACC championship game in Charlotte, they’ll be assured a spot in the playoff regardless of style points.
