Cassandra Frazier: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

The wife of a WWE superstar is filing a major lawsuit against Vince McMahon over her husband’s death. Wrestler Nelson Frazier Jr., who performed for the company as Mabel, Viscera and Big Daddy V, died in February 2014, officially of a heart attack. His widow, Cassandra Frazier, claims her husband died as a result of numerous undiagnosed injuries he suffered over the years working for the WWE.

1. Her Lawsuit Mentions That Chris Benoit Murdered His Family Due to Undiagnosed Concussions

In a 124-page lawsuit that was filed in Memphis, Tennessee, on the one-year anniversary of Nelson Frazier’s death, it’s alleged that the WWE were negligent in not diagnosing numerous concussions and other injuries and caused “serious, permanent, and disabling injuries.” The lawsuit makes reference to Chris Benoit, who murdered his family in 2007, allegedly due to psychosis caused by in-ring injuries. The suit states that Frazier suffered from “large knots” in his head caused by scar tissue in his skull that became permanent lumps. It also reads:

Frazier had sustained serious longterm brain damage from his WWE career. Frazier’s broken spirit and body left him virtually penniless, and he was forced to pay cash for medical services in the months before his death.

2. After Frazier Died in 2014, Cassandra Promised to Reveal the ‘Secrets’ of the WWE

Just after Frazier’s death, Cassandra posted a lengthy rant on her Facebook page where she trashed Vince McMahon and the WWE. She claimed the company never even offered her condolences after her husband died. Cassandra also wrote that she would expose the “secrets” of the WWE. A few days later, she posted an apology for her rant. She wrote:

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME TO APOLOGIZE TO THE WWE FOR ALL THE HORRIBLE THINGS THAT I SAID ABOUT YOUR COMPANY! ESPECIALLY VINCE, IT WAS UNCALLED FOR AND I AM VERY SORRY, BUT I LOST MY BEST FRIEND AND THE ONLY MAN I EVER LOVED AND I WAS VERY ANGRY. PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND ALSO TO YOUR FANS, HE WAS A GOOD MAN, AND HE LOVED VINCE, STEPHANIE, AND TRIPLE H, AND I HAD NO RIGHT TO SAY THE THINGS THAT I SAID!I DON’T WANT MY MOURNING TO AFFECT HIS LEGACY BECAUSE I WAS HURT, ITS NOT HIS FAULT OF THE UGLY THINGS THAT I SAID.


3. Nelson Frazier Literally Died in His Wife’s Arms

According to Frazier’s former WWE on-screen manager, Oscar, Frazier died in his wife’s arms. In an interview with wrestling site Angry Marks, Oscar explained that Frazier died just after he got out of the bathtub. Cassandra attended to him and got him to lay down while she got him some water. Soon after, he started bleeding from his mouth and then he had a heart attack as his wife held him. His last words were “I love you very much.” Oscar also called Cassandra an “extraordinary woman” in that interview.


4. She Made His Ashes Into Jewelry for Friends & Family

After Frazier’s death in 2014, TMZ reported that Cassandra was giving away his ashes in necklaces and other jewelry for loved ones.


5. Nelson Frazier Was a Huge Star for the WWE in the 90s

While never a major superstar with the WWE, Frazier was a solid performer throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. He debuted in 1993 with the name Mabel as part of the team, Men on a Mission. The group were a child-friendly hip-hop act who also wrestled. When he turned into a bad guy in 1995, he got his first big push as he won the King of the Ring and got a shot at the WWE Championship at Summerslam. He disappeared from the company until 1999 when he resurfaced with the new gimmick of Viscera, a dark disciple of WWE legend The Undertaker. Frazier made his final run with the company between 2004 and 2008 when he talk on the name Big Daddy V. His last match was in March 2008.
