Another March, another year with the same question looming over the NCAA women’s basketball tournament: Can anyone stop UConn?

The Huskies are again the top-ranked team in the country, though this year, they’re not entering the tournament unbeaten. On Monday night, the NCAA selection committee confirmed what was all but a certainty: UConn is the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament.

Maryland, South Carolina and Notre Dame — last year’s runner-up — joined UConn as No. 1 seeds.

Princeton, the lone unbeaten team in the country at 30-0, got a tough draw as a No. 8 seed in the Spokane Region, where the Tigers will likely have to take on Maryland in the second round if they get past ninth-seeded Green Bay in the opener.

The tournament gets started Friday and Saturday with the Round of 64 and culminates with the national championship game April 7 in Tampa. The NCAA website has dates and times for each game.
