Atletico Madrid will travel to Estadio La Rosaleda in Malaga, Spain to keep their place in Champions League competition in 2015-2016, as they face Malaga in La Liga action on April 11th, 2015. Malaga is fresh off of a 1-0 loss to Eibar, who had not won since January 10th, on April 7th, 2015. Atletico Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 on April 7th, 2015 and is four points ahead of Valencia and Sevilla for the third place in the La Liga table. Atletico Madrid beat Malaga 3-1 on November 22nd, 2014.

Atletico Madrid may not defend their 2013-2014 La Liga title, but Atletico Madrid is still in a good place to make the Champions League for the third straight season in 2015-2016. Atletico Madrid is in their best form of the 2014-2015 season, as they have gone 4-3-0 since a 2-0 February 15th loss to Celta Vigo. Atletico Madrid has been successful domestically this year, but also is in the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the second straight season. Atletico Madrid will play city rivals Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League on April 14th, 2015 and will try to avenge their 4-1 loss in the 2014 Champions League final.

Malaga has already made their impact on La Liga title race this season, as they tied Barcelona 0-0 on September 24th, 2014 and upset Barcelona at Camp Nou 1-0 on Febuary 21st, 2015. Malaga has another opportunity to leave their imprint on the title race, as they play second in the table Real Madrid on April 18th, 2015 after playing Atletico Madrid. Malaga has scored less than two goals in 12 of their 14 La Liga games in 2015.
