The NBA is in a buzz after international sensation Kristaps Porzingis had a recent workout in Las Vegas. Thanks to SLAM Magazine, we have the above footage from the workout. According to SLAM, there were over 150 NBA executives in attendance.
How did it go? Apparently, Porzingis was quite impressive. According to ESPN’S Chad Ford, many GM’s came away from the workout feeling like he was one of the top two players in the draft. He displayed athleticism and an impressive shooting touch, making many experts believe he has the ability to attack the basket while also proving to be a three-point threat at the NBA level.
Porzingis is a relatively unknown player to NBA fans, but not to NBA front offices. He played professionally in Spain last season and is rising up draft boards. Just how high will he go in this year’s draft? The Lakers are rumored to be interested in Porzingis at #2, but we will have to wait and see if this is all a smokescreen. ESPN’s Ryen Russillo said on the SVP and Russillo show yesterday that many executives believe the lowest Porzingis would go is #5 to the Orlando Magic. It will also be interesting to see if he is in play for the Knicks at #4.
