WWE Money in the Bank 2015: Reactions & Review

The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) (c) vs. The Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil and Darren Young) (WWE Tag Team Championship)

Reactions: Extra points goes to Big E for his cheap heat by knocking the hometown crowd’s favorite sports team. Most of this match entailed Darren Young getting destroyed by Xavier Woods and Big. It was your typical face-in-peril moment as Young ate plenty of big moves from The New Day. Once Titus came in to wreak house on his opponents, the action picked up considerably. The finish and title change came soon afterwards once Titus landed his finisher on Woods. This one was short and sweet. It certainly wasn’t amazing, but seeing The Prime Time Players win the WWE Tag Team Champions was a great result.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose (Ladder Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Reactions: This was a solid Ladder Match. However, it was slower paced than most matches of its genre. The focus of this match was Rollins working over Ambrose’s injured leg. Ambrose fought back several times and looked like the crazed survivor we all know and appreciate. Rollins turned into a madman on a mission as he used steel chairs and ladders to further injure Ambrose’s weakened limb. Ambrose did his best to fight back at several points and almost emerged the winner. Rollins’ final offense was great to see. We were heartbroken by the finish of this match. But Rollins proved once again that he’s The Authority’s Chosen One. A good Ladder Match to cap off the evening.

Final Verdict

This year’s Money in the Bank event was a solid PPV to sit through. The MITB match was fun in its own right, but paled in comparison to past installments. The Divas title bout went longer than most and it succeeded because of the extra time. The show was brought to life with an excellent rematch between John Cena and Kevin Owens. The two other secondary title matches were nothing to write home about, yet the main event title bout was a solid if slightly underwhelming match. Go out of your way to see Cena/Owens 2. Everything else here was meh to good enough.
