Barcelona will have a chance at a number of trophies — La Liga, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, FIFA World Cup Championship to name a few — this season after securing a historic treble last season. The first available competitive trophy comes Tuesday night when they face Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup.
The UEFA Super Cup is the annual match between the winners of the previous season’s Champions League and Europa League. Barcelona claimed a fifth Champions League title and Sevilla won their fourth Europa League in May. Despite this being the 40th edition of the Super cup, this is the first time it will feature a rematch of a previous fixture. Barcelona fell to Sevilla 3-0 in 2006.
Barcelona are heavy favorites at 3/10 to win the match, while Sevilla are 15/2 to win. A draw can be had at 9/2. Last season Barcelona beat the Seville side 5-1 at home, but were held 2-2 in the return fixture.
