Goals were hard to come by for most teams during the opening weekend of La Liga fixtures, and Real Madrid found that out the hard way against newly promoted Sporting de Gijon.

Hoping to avoid another blank against a newly-promoted side, Real Madrid host Real Betis at the Bernabeu on Saturday. Betis brought in 10 new players over the summer after winning Segunda Division and earned a 1-1 draw against Villarreal last week.

During the week, Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi wrapped up a move back to Real Sociedad.
