It’s the Super Bowl that could have been.
While most remember Malcolm Butler’s interception to seal the Super Bowl for the Patriots, another NFC team likely should have been playing in Glendale. The Packers were 99.9 percent on their way to Super Bowl 49 before a magical comeback by the Seahawks and a failed onside kick recover ended Green Bay’s season in an even more crushing way than Seattle’s did.
Green Bay and New England, who played a memorable regular-season game last season, will meet once again in Week 1 on Thursday night. Will they meet in Super Bowl 50?
While most starters will play about a quarter, Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo may see far more action, according to Patriots.com. Garoppolo has struggled in camp and needs all of the reps he can get as he prepares to fill in for the suspended Tom Brady.
