The injury bug was out in force during Week 2, taking bites out of some of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is out the longest, perhaps 2 months, with a broken left collarbone. Brandon Weeden filled in nicely and will start for the foreseeable future, but the team also traded for Matt Cassel. It’s not exactly a situation you should be looking at as a fantasy owner. Weeden is nothing more than a QB2.

Down in the Big Easy, Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been diagnosed with a bruised right rotator cuff and is likely to miss games (or at least one). Brees, though, hasn’t ruled himself out yet. We’ll see. If it’s not Brees, it will be journeyman Luke McCown will be under center, but this is also a scenario to avoid.

And finally, Bears QB Jay Cutler will be out at least 2 weeks with a hamstring injury, opening the door for Jimmy Clausen to get a few starts. Not to sound like a broken record, but Clausen is also not the answer to fantasy success.

Losing Romo is a huge deal — for the Cowboys and fantasy owners. Brees, too. Though he isn’t expected to miss as much time (knock on wood). Cutler was struggling, but Bears fans would rather have him than Clausen (um, I think).

I ranked my Top 25 quarterbacks for Week 3 below. You’re not going to find Weeden, McCown or Clausen among them. Though I must say Weeden was close.

Each week I’ll be posting fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and defenses/special teams. Bookmark our fantasy football rankings 2015 page to keep up-to-date on the latest projections and rankings so you know you who to start and who to sit.
