United need three points to clinch their way into the Champions League knockout stage, but they’ll be short-handed Wednesday when they take on PSV Eindhoven.
These teams met in the first match of group play, with Eindhoven securing a 2-1 victory. United are unbeaten in Europe since that defeat in September, and are at the top of the Group B standings.
Van Gaal’s squad has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks. Seven first-team starters were unavailable against Watford over the weekend, and several more were hurt during the match. Martial and Wayne Rooney were able to return to training this week, but it is unknown if they are fit to play Wednesday. Ander Herrera and Phil Jones, who both needed to be subbed off against Watford, have not trained this week.
Today’s game will be available on Fox Sports One in the US at 2:45 p.m. Eastern. Because of an agreement between FOX and ESPN, the game will be available on both streaming platforms (WatchESPN & Fox Sports GO).
