Early Preview

The Packers had a lot of ugly moments after their Week 7 bye, going 4-6 after starting the season 6-0. But nothing came close to being as ugly as their 38-8 dismantling at the hands of the Cardinals in Week 16. Arizona out-gained Green Bay, 381-178, recorded nine sacks, forced four turnovers and scored a pair of defensive touchdowns.

That was only two weeks ago, so it’s easy to see why Arizona opens as such a heavy favorite, but things can change quickly in the NFL.

Green Bay is much healthier on the offensive line than it was in that one, while Aaron Rodgers and a previously struggling offense looked crisp in the wild-card round, dropping 35 points and scoring on five-straight possessions at one point.

The Cardinals offense is multi-dimensional, has explosive playmakers all over the field and have been putting up huge performances all year. But Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL for a reason, and if his line protects him like it did against Washington, the Packers are more than capable of turning this one into an entertaining shootout.

Kickoff is Saturday, January 16 at 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC.
