Little League World Series 2016: 1st-Round Schedule & Results

The eight top Little League teams from the United States and the eight best international teams have converged on Williamsport, Pennsylvania to compete in the Little League World Series.

The crop of talented 11- and 12-year-old baseball players will play in two double-elimination tournaments. The eventual U.S. champion will go up against the international champion on August 28 to vie for the the Little League World Series champion title. In each of the last four years, an international team has been crowned the champion.

Since it was first held in South Williamsport 70 years ago, the Little League World Series has grown in popularity and viewership. Games will be held at Williamsport’s two main Little League fields: Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium. Japan is the defending champion and has won four times in the last six years.

The tournament will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC. The full broadcast schedule can be found here.
