Will Syracuse Be In The NCCA Tournament?

After an early loss to Miami in the ACC Tournament, the tournament fate of Syracuse is unknown. At 18-14, the Orange are right on the bubble for March Madness.

So close in fact, that they might have to play their way into the tournament. Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology projects Syracuse as a play-in qualifier, requiring them to play an extra game before the tournament to advance as a 12 seed.

Syracuse’s resume is bolstered by some impressive wins, but overall it’s been a mediocre season for Jim Boeheim’s crew. The notable victories are Duke, Virginia, and Florida State, but all came within the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome.

Away from home, the Orange were terrible. They finished the regular season 2-8 away from home, including 0-3 on neutral courts.

Syracuse may have some marquee wins, but it’s their losses that could keep them from dancing. The Orange have five losses to teams with an RPI over 100, including a 15-point loss to Boston College in January.
