This whole Big3 thing might just have some staying power.
Last week’s debut didn’t always feature the crispest displays of basketball, but it was still entertaining. It was a nostalgic trip watching former players battle it out, the rules are a nice little wrinkle, it’s cool being able to hear Gary Payton and the coaches, and most importantly, the players were actually taking games seriously. They were battling in the post, diving for balls and really going after each other. Exhibition, this is not.
The only real problem is the TV schedule. With the games being played on Sunday but not televised until Monday, it’s hard not to have the results spoiled when we have any and every piece of information at our fingertips within a matter of seconds.
Nevertheless, Big3 is off to a promising start. Here’s everything you need to know about the Week 2 schedule from Charlotte:
