Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams (6-0) aim to remain undefeated against the San Francisco 49ers (1-5) as Week 5 action continues on Sunday afternoon.
The game is scheduled to start at 4:25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS in select areas (coverage map here). Goff has torched San Francisco in his few career games against them, including multiple 300-yard passing performances. With Goff, running back Todd Gurley will look to build off a career game last week against the Denver Broncos in which he ran for over 200 yards.
Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (knee) has already been ruled out by head coach Sean McVay and is set to miss a few weeks. Kupp was questionable heading into last week, along with teammate Brandin Cooks, with a concussion. He eventually ended up playing and wasn’t a threat to miss any action.
49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard has had a string of good games since replacing starter Jimmy Garoppolo. Beathard and the 49ers offense were in position to upset the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football last week — before Aaron Rodgers happened again.
Kyle Shanahan has had minimal to work with. He will try to keep pace with McVay, as the two are inextricably linked as offensive coordinators — geniuses — who each recently took over NFC West head coaching vacancies.
