In a matchup of two teams who with a win can still keep their playoff hopes alive, Dak Prescott leads the Dallas Cowboys (4-5) east to take on Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons (4-5) as Week 11 action continues on Sunday afternoon.
The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Fox in select areas (coverage map here). The Cowboys defeated an NFC East foe, the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-20 at Lincoln Financial Field last Sunday. The Falcons lost a disappointing road game 28-16 in Cleveland to No. 1 overall pick Baker mayfield and the Browns.
The Cowboys offensive line could be banged up even more so heading into Sunday. Both right guard Zack Martin and rookie tackle Connor Williams are questionable to play with knee injuries. In addition to those two, starting left tackle Tyron Smith missed practice during the week with back spasms. Although Smith isn’t likely to miss time, he could be held out Sunday if his back flares up again.
Ezekiel Elliott will need to be at his best. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett plans to use him as such.
“Getting him the ball, I think, is a priority for us. Whether you hand it to him or throw it to him, he can have a positive impact on the game.”
The Falcons got some good news this week, as middle linebacker Deion Jones was activated off injured reserve. Jones has been out since Week 1 after sustaining a foot fracture in Atlanta’s season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones has been ruled out for Sunday according to head coach Dan Quinn, but will likely return against the New Orleans Saints after a full, healthy week of practice.
With wins against Atlanta, and Washington on Thanksgiving, Dallas could move right back into NFC East contention, possibly first place with a Redskins’ loss to the Houston Texans.
