Panthers quarterback Cam Newton
In a matchup of two NFC South teams heading into entirely different directions, Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers (5-2) host Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) at Bank of America Stadium as Week 9 action continues on Sunday afternoon.
The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Fox in select areas (coverage map here). If the Game is Out of Your Market

With a 36-21 win last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina remains unbeaten (4-0) at home. Much of that is due to the efficiency of Newton on offense. The stable Newton is continuing to sustain a pace which would see him set a new career-high in completion percentage and low for interceptions.
After a brutal road showing in a loss against the Cincinnati Bengals last week, head coach Dirk Koetter made the decision to pull the plug on 2015 No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston and go back to veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. Fitzpatrick was named the starter for Week 9 during the past week.
Winston, who was suspended the first three games of this season for violating the NFL’s conduct policy, is still plagued by his carelessness with the football. Despite playing three less games, Winston still accumulated 11 turnovers (10 interceptions, one fumble lost) in his four appearances.
Tampa Bay’s defensive line seems like it will gain reinforcements. Gerald McCoy (calf) and Vinny Curry (ankle) each practiced on Friday, and are listed as questionable for Sunday.
