The Alabama Crimson Tide football continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail, and one of its newest pledges is already all-in.
According to a report from On3’s BamaOnLine, 2027 tight end commit Oakley Keegan has officially shut down his recruitment, making it clear that his future lies in Tuscaloosa.
“I’m committed 100%,” Keegan said, signaling there will be no more visits or discussions with other programs.
That statement is exactly what Alabama fans and coaches want to hear in today’s ever-changing recruiting landscape.
What Oakley Keegan’s Commitment Means for Alabama
Keegan originally committed to Alabama in March, becoming one of the early building blocks for the Crimson Tide’s 2027 recruiting class.
At 6-foot-7 and around 230 pounds, the New York native brings elite size and versatility to the tight end position, and traits that fit perfectly in head coach Kalen DeBoer’s offensive system.
By shutting down his recruitment early, Keegan can focus on his senior season while also helping the Alabama coaching staff continue recruiting potential future teammates.
Why Did Oakley Keegan Pick Alabama?
Keegan’s decision to lock in with Alabama didn’t happen overnight. His relationship with the coaching staff and overall experience with the program played a major role.
After suffering an Achilles injury while camping in Tuscaloosa last summer, the Alabama coaching staff continued to cultivate their relationship with Keegan, which did not go unnoticed by him and his family.
Keegan also believes that Alabama offers an offense that will utilize the tight ends in a big way.
Current Alabama Football Commits for Class of 2027
Alabama’s 2027 recruiting class is still taking shape, with just four commitments so far. The group is headlined by four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn. Alongside Seaborn and Keegan are fellow four-star tight end Colt Lumpris and three-star defensive back Nash Johnson.
DeBoer and his staff still have plenty of time to secure commitments, which could start taking place as soon as the end of this month.
