The 2026 NFL Draft is still a long time from now, but for Texas A&M Aggies star wide receiver KC Concepcion, the process has already begun.
Concepcion is widely considered to be a potential first-round pick in the upcoming draft. However, in order to solidify that status, he’ll need to produce well during the time leading up to the draft.
Looking ahead at the 2026 draft, there are quite a few teams around the NFL who could use help at the wide receiver position. Concepcion is usually projected to land in the 20’s in most mock drafts, which is where many teams needing wide receivers are scheduled to draft.
Keeping that in mind, there is one team in particular who has emerged as a potential landing spot for Concepcion in the first round.
Pittsburgh Steelers Could Consider the Texas A&M Playmaker
Throughout the entire 2025 NFL season, rumors surrounded the Pittsburgh Steelers and the wide receiver market. They ended up landing Adam Thielen after he parted ways with the Minnesota Vikings, but the need behind DK Metcalf still exists.
Whether the Steelers bring back future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers or not, they’re going to need another playmaker on the roster.
Concepcion could fit that need and become an instant part of the Pittsburgh offense.
Landing with the Steelers would be a great situation for the young wideout. New head coach Mike McCarthy is known for running a high-level offense. Concepcion would also have the luxury of learning behind an elite NFL playmaker in Metcalf.
On the surface, the fits look great.
Pro Football Network analyst T.J. Randall has released a new mock draft. He projected the Texas A&M standout to land with Pittsburgh at No. 21 overall.
“But the group of pass catchers outside of D.K. Metcalf inspires very little confidence. Plugging Concepcion into the equation provides some yin to Metcalf’s yang, a 5-foot-11, 187-pound dynamo with the ball in his hands,” Randall wrote. “His slippery, elusive style offers additional space for him to turbocharge his linear impact — elements that spill over into who he is as a punt returner.”
What to Know About Texas A&M Wide Receiver KC Concepcion
Standing in at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Concepcion isn’t a big physical presence. He makes up for that with his speed and playmaking ability.
During the 2025 college football season with the Aggies, the dynamic wideout caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns.
His first two college seasons were played at N.C. State. Throughout his entire three-year college career, Concepcion racked up a total of 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and 25 scores. Those numbers should intrigue a team like the Steelers.
While it’s way too early to know where a player will land in the draft, Pittsburgh appears to be a great potential fit for Concepcion. There are other teams where he would fit just as well, but the Steelers are certainly a team to keep a close eye on as the draft draws closer.
