On July 17, 2025, Welsh professional golfer Darcey Harry stood at Royal Portrush and cheered on her boyfriend, Jacob Skov Olesen. Eagerly, she watched as he tied for the lead on day one of The Open Championship. Now, Harry finds herself back home in Wales, ready to take on the 2025 AIG Women’s Open. Olesen is set to join her, but as more than an onlooker. Olesen plans to caddie for Harry as she plays at the course she calls home, Royal Porthcawl.
This won’t be the first time Olesen is joining Harry. In June of this year, Olesen caddied for Harry at Belgium’s Hulencourt Women’s Open. Here, he watched as she took home first place.
“Originally I was going to caddie for myself for a little bit, but then my boyfriend had an off-week that week [in Belgium] so I said ‘ooh you can come and push my bag’,” Harry explained.
“The first time he caddied for me we won, so that was a really nice moment to share with him.’ She continued. “I think I learned a lot from him being on my bag. I don’t think I would have been able to do it without him.”
The couple continued their successful pairing the following week, with Harry finishing T4 at the Czech Ladies Open.
Who Is Darcey Harry?
Darcey Harry is a 22-year-old Welsh professional golfer on the Ladies European Tour. After turning pro in 2024, she took home her maiden win this year in Belgium at the Hulencourt Women’s Open. Previosly, Harry held a successful amateur career, including a win at Santander Golf Tour La Coruna in 2024. Her 2025 goal included playing at the AIG Women’s Open, something she will have accomplished starting July 31st, 2025.
Currently, Harry boasts a low round of 64. With one win and two top ten finishes, the Welsh golfer is looking forward to playing at the Women’s Open.
“I am so excited.” Harry states. “I just can’t really believe that I am going to be playing [in the Women’s Open at Porthcawl]. I can’t really put into words how much I am looking forward to it.”

Each year at the British Open, an annual tradition occurs. An unlikely player moves up the leaderboard and takes a surprise spot at the top. This year the tradition was continued by Danish golfer Jacob Skov Olesen. With an opening round of 67, the 26-year old came into his second major appearance ready to prove his place in the sport.
On his second round, Olesen ended the day with a perfectly-even par. This ensured that Olesen made the cut and could continue playing through the weekend. Unfortunately, Olesen ended up in 68th place at The Open, but that first round will leave its mark in golf history, allowing the tradition to carry on.
Golf Power Couple
As both Harry and Olesen rise in their respective rankings, fans are hopeful to see this power couple at more events. When asked about his caddying, Olesen mentioned the support from Harry, and how he was returning the favor.
“She was in Belgium with me for the Soudal Open for the weekend and I wanted to do the same for her,” He said. “She’d just said goodbye to her caddie, so needed a different one and asked if I wanted to help her out and I was happy to do that.”
