The PGA Tour Q‑School (Presented by Korn Ferry Tour) remains golf’s ultimate back-door entry to the big time. For 2025, the Final Stage will be contested from December 11-14 at TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley Course and Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Here’s how it works: after multiple earlier stages–Pre-Qualifying, First Stage, and Second Stage–this Final Stage is the last chance for aspiring professionals, former Tour players without status, and conditional-status players to earn or regain full membership on the PGA Tour for the 2026 season.

At the end of four grueling rounds across two courses, the top five finishers (no ties) earn full 2026 PGA Tour cards. The next 40 finishers and ties receive status on the Korn Ferry Tour, and even those beyond that still walk away with conditional status or access to satellite tours like PGA Tour Americas.

For many players–some just weeks removed from college or mini tours, others veterans clawing back–this Final Stage offers everything: redemption, reward, or a fresh start. That’s why Q-School remains, in many ways, the toughest entry gate in golf.

176 Golfers, Five PGA Tour Cards – Odds and Pressure

This year’s Final Stage field includes 176 golfers, all competing for just five PGA Tour cards. That means fewer than 3% of the field will earn the top prize.

The math underscores how brutal Q-School has become. Given these odds, the pressure all week will be immense. For some–up-and-coming players, promising young pros, or past Tour veterans trying to re-establish status–Q-School represents the difference between full Tour access and a fallback to developmental circuits.

But there’s more on the line than just membership. Even players who don’t finish in the top five can still rebuild their careers. Korn Ferry Tour status means 2026 remains realistic. Conditional status offers pathways back to relevance. For many, that second life in pro golf begins here.
