Donovan Dent Commits to LSU
One of the marquee players to — for now — return to college basketball is UCLA’s Donovan Dent.
At New Mexico, he was one of the best guards in the country, averaging 20.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
After the 2024-25 season, Dent entered his name into the transfer portal where 247Sports named him the No. 4 overall transfer, and he became one of the most coveted players of the cycle.
While having a down year after transferring to UCLA in the 2025-26 season, he still has loads of talent and will be in the mix for an All-SEC team.
After transferring to UCLA for the 2025-26 season, Dent averaged 13.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists a game on 40.8% shooting from the field. It was a letdown of a season for his standards, but still pushed UCLA to a No. 7 overall seed and the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament.

LSU head coach Will Wade has had one of the most interesting recruiting cycles of this offseason. Wade recruited heavily overseas, with numerous commits from professional players.
The Tigers added Skyy Clark, teammate of Dent’s at UCLA, who committed on Aug. 12. Clark also received a fifth year of eligibility.
Other notable signings were Kansas State’s Abdi Bashir Jr., who averaged 13.2 points a game, and Kentucky’s Mouhamed Dioubate, who averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds a game.
The California preliminary injunction provides LSU one of the better backcourts in the country with Dent, Clark and Bashir Jr. The Tigers will need all the help they can get in a loaded SEC.
