On Friday night, the Atlanta Braves will continue spring training action when they face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Braves are coming off a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies (on Wednesday).
So far, they have gone 18-6 in the 24 exhibition games they have played.

Before Friday’s showdown with the Pirates, the Braves announced that they had made a roster move.
The Braves wrote (on March 19): “The #Braves today outrighted RHP Ian Hamilton to Triple-A Gwinnett. Atlanta now has 41 active players in camp.”

The 30-year-old was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
He has spent six seasons playing for the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins (and White Sox).
Last season, Hamilton had a 2-1 record with a 4.28 ERA in 36 games for the Yankees.

He posted a 4.28 ERA over 40 IP for the Yankees in 2025 with 42 K and a 1.25 WHIP.

Looking Ahead At The Braves

The Braves are coming off a down year where they missed the MLB playoffs with a 76-86 record.
They had an under .500 record for the first time in seven years.

That said, the 2021 World Series Champions still have an extremely talented roster with Ronald Acuña Jr., Ozzie Albies, Chris Sale and Matt Olson that should see them contend to win the National League East in 2026.
