Smith is in the middle of his first season playing for the Braves.
He signed with the franchise over the offseason.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote: “Dominic Smith, who signed a minor league contract in late March with Atlanta that pays just $1.25 million in the big leagues: .395 batting average 1.099 OPS”
Based on what he is being paid compared to other MLB players, Smith was one of the best signings in the league.
He is currently batting .395 with 15 hits, three home runs, 15 RBI’s and nine runs in 14 games.

Smith’s MLB Career
Smith was picked in the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
He is in the middle of his tenth season, also having stints with the New York Mets, Washington Nationals, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds.
The Atlanta Braves wrote (on March 28): “Dominic Smith is the first player in MLB history to hit a walk-off grand slam in his team debut, per Elias.”
Smith came into the night batting .251 with 72 home runs, 303 RBI’s and 272 runs in 769 career games.
Mark Bowman of MLB.com wrote (on March 29): “Dominic Smith hit a historic walk-off grand slam, revealed his mother passed away two weeks ago and then praised the Braves for the family atmosphere they have provided since he joined them after the start of Spring Training”

The Braves are currently 11-7 in 18 games, which has them at the top of the National League East.
They are 7-4 in 11 games at home.
Following one more games against Miami, the Braves will play their next series on Friday when they visit the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
