On Sunday, the Atlanta Braves avoided a sweep when they beat the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 4-2.
Michael Harris finished with one home run in five at-bats.
The Braves will now have the day off on Monday.
ATL Manager Makes Harris Statement
After the game, manager Walt Weiss was asked about Harris when he met with the media (h/t Baseball on Fanatics View).
Reporter: “Thanks, Walt. Looking at Harris, his eighth homer this year against a lefty. What have you seen in his adjustment left-on-left that’s really had great results this year?”
Weiss: “Yeah. I’ve talked about him a lot this year and I think we’re just seeing him mature as a player and figure some things out. Mature as a hitter. He’s a free swinger. He’s still going to chase some, but he hits the ball so hard and he’s doing that more often. I think it’s just a young kid. He’s still only 25 years old, I believe. Figuring things out and becoming a better player and he’s doing it before our eyes. But yeah, just maturing as a player is what I see.”
Looking At Harris
Harris was picked in the 3rd round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
He is in the middle of his 5th season at the MLB level (all with the Braves).
In 2022, Harris won the National League Rookie of The Year Award.
Right now, Harris is batting .294 with 140 hits, 21 home runs, 71 RBIs, 62 runs and seven stolen bases in 125 games.
He was one of the best players to miss the All-Star Game.
Looking At The Braves
The Braves will now host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night at Truist Park.
They are at the top of the National League East with a 76-55 record in 131 games.
