Yastrzemski is in his first season with the Braves after signing with the franchise over the offseason.
Despite his big night on Tuesday, the 35-year-old has struggled this season.
He is batting .214 with 25 hits, one home run, nine RBI’s, 16 runs and one stolen base in 39 games.
After Tuesday’s game, manager Walt Weiss spoke about Yastrzemski (via Reggie Chatman Jr. of 11Alive News).
Weiss: “These are the ups and downs of this game. Everybody struggles in this game. He’s got a good track record. He’s got a high baseball IQ. He understands his swing, he understands what he’s trying to do. I think when guys have that type of aptitude and that type of work ethic, they usually can get through things.”
Yastrzemski has also spent time with the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals over eight seasons in the MLB.

Grant McAuley: “Boy, did Mike Yastrzemski need that. He’s been grinding it out all year and finally got a hold of one.”
Chad Bishop: “Mike Yastrzemski now 5-for-10 off Colin Rea with three homers”
